EDAG developing the smart factory

EDAG contributes to enable Brazil to compete on an equal footing with the international Market by transferring know-how as Brazil enters the fourth phase of the industrial revolution – industry 4.0.

EDAG is using several elements that define the industry 4.0 in a lot of projects in progress in Brazil.

The concept of factory scanning, that is, the representation of real production lines through computer mathematical models, the digital twins, has been developed and applied for decades. Today, with the incredible increase of data storage capacity, data transmission and cloud computing, with the development of simulation, analysis and prediction algorithms, big data analytics, with modern sensors, cyber physical systems, an immense horizon opened for the development of new business models as well as new ways of planning, designing,  managing and optimizing the factories of future.

Virtual commissioning of highly automated production lines and the integration of Manufacturing Execution Systems, are examples of these new technologies that define the direction of industry 4.0, services that EDAG has been offering for years and currently for Brazilian customers.

“The paperless plant, collaborative robots, predictive maintenance and energy efficiency, are also industry 4.0 topics in which EDAG develops solutions together with its clients to realize the smart factory, the intelligent factory of the future”, explains Mr. Stefan Schramm, Director of Production Solutions at EDAG do Brasil.
